Hiding/Publishing Contact Details in the Whois of a .TEL Domain Name

You have the option not to have your Contact Details displayed in the Whois Lookup result of a .TEL domain name, if you are registering it as an individual. You may choose this option at the time of registration.

For a .TEL domain name already registered, you may choose to hide/publish your Contact Details as mentioned below.

 

Hiding Contact Details

  1. Login to your Control Panel. 1

  2. Search for the .TEL domain name and proceed to the Order details view. 2

    Note

    If the domain name is locked/suspended, you will have to first get it unlocked/unsuspended it before proceeding further.

  3. Click the Hide/Publish Whois link.

  4. Select the I am an individual and do not wish to display my Contact Details in the Whois checkbox and then click the Modify button.

Note
  • The Whois Lookup will display only the Registrant Contact Name, Administrative Contact Name, Technical Contact Name and Billing Contact Name. Address, Phone Number, Facsimile Number and Email Address associated with these Contacts will not be displayed.

  • The complete Contact Details are required to be published in the Whois Lookup results, if a .TEL domain name is registered to a Company, Business, Partnership, Non-Profit Entity, Association, or other types of Legal constructs.

 

Publishing Contact Details (if already hidden)

  1. Login to your Control Panel. 3

  2. Search for the .TEL domain name and proceed to the Order details view. 4

    Note

    If the domain name is locked/suspended, you will have to first get it unlocked/unsuspended it before proceeding further.

  3. Click the Hide/Publish Whois link.

  4. Select the I wish to display my Contact Details in the Whois checkbox and then click the Modify button.

Attention

In case of both the above actions, you will encounter the below error message in case the domain name is locked/suspended at the Registry (and not under our system) or an outbound Transfer for the domain name to another Registrar is under process -

Domain Status does not allow this operation.

In case of

  • a lock/suspension at the Registry, contact our Support Team at sohail@reliancearabia.com to know the reason for lock/suspension and how the lock/suspension may be removed.

  • an outbound Transfer, you may

    • either cancel the Transfer through link listed in the email sent to the Registrant/Administrative Contact of the domain name and then perform the required modification, or

    • wait for the Transfer to complete and then carry out the desired modification at the New Registrar.
